Melanie & Peter’s maternity session

Melanie and Peter were the winners of the Andrée-Lise Photography Giveaway and it was a joy to work with them after the long wait.  Melanie mentioned during the session that she was SO looking forward to it and had a hard time waiting.  That’s ALWAYS a good sign!  The shoot took place at their home in the south end of Ottawa, at Mooney’s Bay and at Peter’s workplace, where they first met (awwwwww…) One more thing, they are HUGE fans of the Ottawa Senators and I think our tribute photos are super cute!

Hope you all enjoy the photos! Promise it won’t be such a long wait until the next post:)

Abigail Mariette Thompson was born May 16th and she is beyond beautiful.  I feel so touched to have been part of this wonderful thing: new life!  Congratulations to Mel & Peter – I hope to photograph little Abigail soon!

Enjoy!

Norma & Sam – Bank of Canada Engagement

Norma & Sam met me on the afternoon of March 11th at the Bank of Canada for their engagement session.  Norma was fighting the flu and Sam was all jokes the whole time – it made for a very interesting mix!  The session went beautifully and they got into it very quickly.

Norma & Sam will be getting married in August at NavCan in Cornwall and I cannot wait to capture their big day.

Congratulations again on your engagement, continued success in the planning of your wedding and looking forward to August!

P.S  Let Norma & Sam know how great they look in a comment below!

Natacha & Adam – 1940’s engagement session

When Nat & Adam first told me they were planning a vintage themed wedding I was beyond excited and ideas started blossoming.  Then when they told me they wanted a 1940’s inspired engagement session, I was IN LOVE.  This was so much fun and can you believe the first photo was shot in my mother’s dining room? Amazing.

We started the session with the vintage shoot and then got changed and headed to the Wakefield covered bridge for more ‘normal’ photos.  They were real troopers because it was VERY cold that day.  They sat and modeled beautifully as I froze my fingers off and they shivered like crazy.  They were so good that you can’t even tell in the photos that it was -10 or more outside.

Oh and one more thing… this couple is so in love with each other that it warms my heart every time I look at their photos.  They will make a superb married couple and I cannot wait to shoot their upcoming vintage wedding in Merrickville in June!  Good luck with the planning Nat & Adam and I hope you love the photos.

P.S  Let Adam & Natacha know how gorgeous and romantic they look in a comment below!

Janie - March 23, 2012 - 8:04 am

as always… she’s just beautiful!!! Love that little princess!

Sophie Parent-Marquis - March 23, 2012 - 8:17 am

Andrée’s beautiful photography captured our little girl in moments of tenderness, warmth, and joy. Patience and creativity were Andrée’s best assets during our photo shoot with our 5 month-old daughter. Only a true professional would take the time to wait for a crying fit to subside and then cheerfully snap away.

Andrée, from start to finish, our experience with you was wonderful. You were patient, creative, professional and gave us exactly what we wanted–A special memory of our child that we will have for a lifetime.

Sincerest Thanks

Sophie & Alain 😀

Kim - March 24, 2012 - 12:51 pm

Again, Andrée… your work astounds me! You totally captured little Kloé in her photos. She is sooo adorable!

Official vendor – VersaTile Design

I am so happy to announce that I’ll soon be adding these amazing MOSAIX to my list of photographic products.

Kelly and Dan started their business only 2 short months ago and they’re going to take Ottawa by storm!  I’ll be amongst a limited number of photographers offering their products, so if you like what you see, contact me for details!

MOSAIX are amongst their signature line of tile mosaics. These conversation pieces are a unique and stunning addition to any home.  For depth and texture, the tiles are mounted onto a fabric covered backing inside a shadow box. The tiles are spaced slightly apart, breaking up the image to give a mosaic effect.

They come in 2 sizes:
Small – Made of nine 2″x2″ tiles mounted inside a 10″ x 10″ shadow box
Large – Made of nine 4″x4″ tiles mounted inside a 20.5″ x 20.5″ shadow box

When your session is done and all the custom editing is complete, you’ll be offered a list of products that you can order including this new product.  MOSAIX can be customized into a collage of 9 photos OR simply one large beautiful feature photo. Among the mentioned customizations, we can also add mini tiles at the bottom with your child’s name, birth date, your wedding date or a word you love! The sky is the limit, Dan and Kelly will make it happen for you!

Pricing is still being worked out, but when it’s ready you’ll be able to see them on the Pricing page.

Here’s a little more about this little business.

(taken from the VersaTile Design website)

We’re just two normal people who had an idea. Now we have a website!

VersaTile Design is the brainchild of the husband and wife team of Dan and Kelly Fallak. Yeah, thats us and our adorable son Henry over there on the left. The business is literally run out of the basement of our home in the quaint town of Almonte, On. You should come visit, it really lives up to it’s nickname “The Friendly Town”.

One day in early 2012, we heard a report on how Instagram was awarded Apple’s App of The Year. We started thinking about ways people could display their Instagram photo’s. It wasn’t long until we thought of coasters. It was a perfect marriage, the square dimensions of a coaster and the signature square format of Instagram photo’s.

So, we began to research and experiment how we could get images and graphics onto tile coasters. After many trials and failed attempts we figured it out. We soon realized that we discovered something rather special. We also realized that our method of transferring photo’s and graphics to the tiles would allow us to do much more than coasters. So here we are today. Only about a month later and our products are in stores, and we’ve expanded from just coasters, to magnets and other gifts, to our new signature art product; MOSAIX, — stunning mounted tile mosaics, a truly unique way of displaying photography and graphics.

We hope you enjoy the products that we have to offer – we enjoy making them.

Can you imagine your beautiful baby in a custom tile shadow box? I can.  I LOVE THESE and so will you.:)
